I wanted to share the following Newsletter article from the Academy of Applique about Nancy's Teaching in 2018:Did you see that Nancy Lee Chong is returning for the 2018 Academy of Applique?
Predominantly known as the Queen of Hawaiian quilting – she offers a “design” class working individually with each attendee to make their own, personal, Hawaiian quilt! She will not only help you get started and begin your quilt, but show you EVERYTHING from soup to nuts, so that when you return home, you are confident and motivated to complete your quilt. If you are interested in this class – don’t hesitate in registering at noon EST on Labor Day, September 4 – historically this class fills quickly. While most classes have a seat limit of (20), this class is limited to (15) so that Nancy has ample time to spend with each student.
Nancy is not only a WONDERFUL person and teacher, she is VERY creative, too. When asked to teach a second class for the 2018 Academy of Applique – she quickly offered a class that she is calling “The Wonderful World of Applique.” This class is PERFECT for the beginner (and I do mean beginner), those that maybe have not appliquéd for a while, and those looking for something a bit different. Each of the blocks is in the style of a different country: United States (Baltimore Album); Ireland (Celtic); France (Stained Glass); Polynesia (Hawaiian and Tahitian) and Panama (Mola). How clever, and a way to “taste” each style for future projects.
