When you are traveling or have time when you want to keep busy what do you do?

I reach for my applique or hand quilting. The time I spend stitching is always time well spent for me. There are not many projects other than hand work that you can do while engaging in conversation with others. I enjoy stitching while I visit. The benefit of this type of work is both therapeutic and offers a feeling of accomplishment.

Machine quilting is solitary work unless you are at a retreat or make the time to get together with quilty friends. Hand applique and hand quilting however can be done anywhere and anytime... Well, maybe not on a dirt road or in the dark but other than that it works. I always have a project ready to throw in a bag and off I go!
